Race - Class - Gender. Intersectional Perspectives in Dance and Theater for the Youngest

From October 23 to 27 and from November 6 to 9, the festival FRATZ International and the symposium on representations of race, class and gender in dance and theater for young audiences of Theater o.N. and Offensive Dance, originally planned for April 2020, will finally take place.

At this year's symposium we will ask ourselves: How are race, class and gender represented - on stage, in the contents and the educational formats for (very) young children? Do we reproduce existing power structures by trying to break them up? How do dance and theater succeed at eye level? Among others, three FRATZ research laboratories from Berlin, Cape Town and Lagos as well as the FRATZ Atelier of Milla Koistinen, Paul Valikoski and Ladislav Zajac will present their work. On the podiums Joshua Alabi, Nora Amin, Shelley Etkin, Malgven Gerbes, Thalia Laric, Isabelle Schad, Iury Salustiano Trojaborg, Marie Yan and many more will discuss and speak.

Participation is possible on site, but most events can also be attended online via zoom.

For the productions as well as for the symposium on site, seat capacities are limited - so get in touch quickly!
